There have not been many books other than the Bible which have changed me in any significant ways. I can only think of two. I have read both of these books this semester and both of these books are highly discouraged by every Pastor and leader I know. They call them dangerous. This worries me. It worries me because I agree almost completely with almost everything these books say. Does this mean I'm dangerous?
I would recommend everyone read these books. They blow my mind. The first is
Blue Like Jazz
by
Donald Miller
. And the second, and much more controversial, is
Velvet Elvis
by
Rob Bell
.
Nex I'm going to read
Searching for God Knows What
which is also by
Donald Miller
. These books probably aren't for everyone, but they pretty much blew my mind.
Oh, and something you may find interesting. Last Thursday I walked into a funeral service. I didn't know what to do. Don't ask how, but I walked in and sat down before I knew what it was. By that time it was too late to back pedal so I sat through and acted sad. I even sniffed some. But you had better believe that I took off before anyone could talk to me...
