How often do we question God? Question His power, question His motives, His authority, basically everything. As a people we even question His existence. But concerning Christians all this doubt has to come from somewhere.

If one believes the first verse in the Bible how could there be doubt about anything else in the Book. Take Jonah for instance. "The Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah" (Jonah 1:17). Is it so hard to believe that God could prepare a massive fish that could not only swallow Jonah whole but sustain him for three days? Take into consideration that He did after all create everything from nothing. Now is it so hard to believe?

How about Moses leading the people out of Israel? The red sea splitting into two so all the people of Israel walk directly through on land. What if God had a gigantic prehistoric submarine rise to the surface and shuttle everyone back and forth? We wouldn't have a problem with it then because that is something that we could do. But when it comes to unnatural things we doubt God. The Creator.

Let's go back ever further. The flood. One could go into all the science and different theories concerning the flood, but I don't feel the need. It's just too stinking hard to believe that the entire world was covered in water for nearly 40 days and night which only 8 people and 2 of nearly every animal survived. But it's not so hard if we believe the first verse of the Bible. God created the world, He can do whatever the heck He wants with it.

What I'm getting at is our perception of God. We think certain things are too difficult for God. But difficulty is measured by the skill of the agent performing the action.

Say I go out to build a house. It would be very difficult for me. But if I hired someone who builds houses for a living it wouldn't be very difficult for them. Now if I hired a tea tester to build the house it would be much more difficult because the agent's abilities are focused in a totally different area. A tea tester can determine 1500 different teas by their taste, smell, look, and texture but couldn't build a house worth dirt.

How hard is it really for God to do anything? Raise the dead, heal the sick, drown the world, make a fish that someone could live in. When God is the agent performing the action nothing is even remotely difficult for Him.

Our God is not as small as we think He is.
