On Saturday I got to go fishing with Tim and Ichigo. We were out there for some five hours without catching anything. Mega bummer, but it was still loads of fun being able to hang out. We also got pretty sun burned being out there all day. I think this monday we are going to go night fishing. I'm looking forward to that a lot. Here's a picture of Tim all ready to go:
And here's Ichigo:
Then on Monday we went up to Okuma for what was supposed to be a relaxing time. The first day was nice. Okuma has this really nice resort type place where we stayed on a beach. A lot of the activities cost money so I didn't do much stuff like that, not that I'm into it anyway. So I went exploring by myself a lot the first day. I ran into this guy on a little trail:
The trail took me down to a nice beach, the only problem was that there was all this trash. Stupid people make nature look like junk:
At night we all got together for some worship around the fire. It was quite enjoyable. Little did I know what tomorrow would bring...
I woke up on Tuesday morning feeling like I was going to die. My high expectations for the day were shattered. I threw up at least 8 or 9 times throughout the day. But it wasn't only me, 6 other people wished they were deal along side me before the day's end. By the end of the day I was feeling better, marginally. But by that time it had just gotten really funny. I was leading some worship around the fire that night and right at the end of this really quiet song someone threw up a loud as could be. It was madness!
All in all it was a good time, Monday and Wednesday were good anyway. Tuesday not so much. By the time we left on Wednesday everyone was feeling a lot better. Praise God for that.
On a completely different note, I just read this interesting quote by A.W. Tozer.
"There is scarcely anything so dull and meaningless as Bible doctrine taught for its own sake. Truth divorced from life is not truth in its Biblical sense, but something else and something less.... No man is better for knowing that God in the beginning created the heaven and the earth. The devil knows that, and so did Ahab and Judas Iscariot. No man is better for knowing that God so loved the world of men that He gave His only begotten Son to die for their redemption. In hell there are millions who know that. Theological truth is useless until it is obeyed. The purpose behind all doctrine is to secure moral action."
