...to my new cat! Her name is 小流氓 (Xiao Liumang). The name means little gangster (or hoodlum). 流氓 isn't the nicest thing you can call someone so it fits this little girl perfectly. We're friends half the time and enemies the other half. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!
Craig and I went to the part of town that sells pets intending to buy a couple kittens. But apparently it's too cold for kittens so no one had any. I saw this cat stacked in a cage (where she couldn't even stand up) under a cage with loads of puppies. Craig bought one of the puppies and I grabbed the cat. The store owner grabbed a plastic bag and tossed the cat in. Then he tied the bag shut and handed me a flailing cat in a plastic bag. I was horrified. (If you think that's bad you should have seen the guy selling skins. Cat, dog, anything else that has fur. I half expected to see a scalp...)
I immediately tore a hole for her head and she calmed down a bit. Once we got in the taxi she didn't stop purring until half way through the shower I gave her when we got home. She even purred while I was clipping her claws. Totally starved of attention this cat is.
She still hasn't stood up straight since I got her on Saturday. The cage was too short so she always had to crouch and I doubt she left the cage from when she was a kitten. I'm not sure if she will ever stand up straight. She has that wild-cat look in her eyes.
But she does like to be under covers. She always climbs under my comforter at night. Even if I'm not in bed she climbs under the comforter.
And here's a picture of Max, the tiny dog Craig bought.
kawaii ne! and the dog is very cute too.
