Why aren't these kids at my school fluent yet? I was looking over their schedule and depending on their grade and English level they have anywhere from 8 to 14 English classes a week! 4 with a native teacher, 4-6 with a Korean teacher, and then some of them have subject classes in English with a native teacher.

I would have killed for that many useful classes in high school. For Korean students English is extremely important to get into a good University and a good job.

Man, America's education is a joke. Good thing we make up for it in arts and entertainments.

Amen. I'm equally baffled about my students, who also have 8-16 English classes per week, including 2 with me (the only native English speaker who teaches them).
Flawed education system, but still not as bad as Canada's.

you guys have not been immersed in the Honduran school system... they do everything to "look" good but never actually do anything. I am not knocking it they are kinda stuck in what they have but it stinks sometimes.
