I have returned. I was discussing something with Bennie over sushi the other day. We realized that we call home where ever we are not. So when I'm here I call Albuquerque home and when I was in Albuquerque over break I called here home. Just a little interesting quark. And the sushi was delectable! We joked about taking our books in and just reading, not even talking to eachother. She's reading The Picture of Dorian Gray and loving it, while I'm reading The Ball and the Cross by G.K. Chesterton. Both books are amazing so why would we bother talking when we could read books like those? I don't know, but we ended up leaving out books in the car.
In song writing the other day we had to write a song about thanks giving or giving thanks. Something along those lines. Thinking this was going to be cake I dove in. After all what do I have that I can't give thanks for? Well, nothing would come! My lyrics were all rubbish. But than it came to me, if you can't give thanks for yourself give thanks for someone else. So I wrote "Song of the Pharisee," written from a Pharisee's perspective thanking God that he is not like all those tax collectors and sinners. Thanking God that he is so much better than everyone else. It's such a good song. Well, maybe not a good song, but certainly an enjoyable song. The only drawback is that everyone started calling me a pharisee. However, that's not, to be completely honest, far from the truth.
P.S. I just finished my last Chuck Track for the semester!
