I have a banjo here. It's a lot of fun and everything but I must admit that I wasn't expecting there to be a hundred year old grand piano in perfect condition out here either. Needless to say most of my musical creativity goes into the sweet piano rather than the cheap banjo. The banjo is fun, but for some reason the piano appeals to me so much more now. I probably play the piano anywhere between one to three hours a day.

I'm not actually learning anything on the piano because all of my time is spent writing songs. And having written three or four complete songs so far really makes me what to polish up my theory so I can print some staff paper and write it down. Man people would think I was awesome if they saw me playing a little bit and scratching it down on paper then playing a bit more.

I also want to get better at my scales and speed. Yesterday I was jamming with John and Charlie. John is really good at the cajon and Charlie is freaking amazing at the guitar. I mean Charlie is the kind of good that makes people want to quit playing guitar. And he's only 15, definitely a prodigy. In any case we were plying around with this sweet minor jam that had a spanish feel and I really wished I could play faster. Well, I think I mean solo faster. I'm fairly good at switching chords and whatnot, but soloing is a whole different world.

It would be great if I could get my piano songs up here for people to listen to somehow...
