There was a package from my mother waiting for me when I got back today. Now I have all kinds of goodies, yum. Even more exciting is the two hymn books I had her send out. I love reading through them, putting them to different chords, and rearranging them. I came across this one hymn called
Wasted Opportunities. It sums up my feelings as of late perfectly.
Wasted opportunities, we can ne'er regain;
Why then stand we idle here, idle why remain?
Wasted opportunities, good we might have done,
Had we not stood idle, some sould we might have won.
Wasted opportunities, days that are no more,
We can never call them back, they have past the door;
Then why not improve our time, as the moments fly?
While these opportunities, swiftly pass us by.
Wasted opportunities, God hath given man
Talents lying idle fail, to do what they can,
Both in serving Jesus, and reading in His Word
Of His love and mercy free, telling what we've heard.
God holds us responsible for each hour of waste,
Let us then our mission fill, do His work in haste,
For those opportunities come to every soul,
Giving work for all to do, who would be made whole.
