The flight over here was alright. I'm not a big fan of long flights. I don't think anyone is. From San Francisco to Kansai I sat next to a 54 year old Japanese women. Her english was terrible and my Japanese is worse but we talked for some 8 hours. But if you combined everything we said it probably would have taken 10 minutes had we spoken the same language. While we were talking I knitted her a headband. She love it and gave me a little bag that totally rocks. It's just my style. So that was fun.
I'm settling in fine. Getting along with my roommates will be interesting. I think I'll be reading a lot this semester because we don't have much in common. Oh well. I mean, the music they are listening to right now is terrible. This disgusting crap with a drummer that just slams on the double bass and a singer that just screams. Nothing about it is good. But I'm not here to hang out with Americans anyway.
There is a 100 yen store across the street with all the crafty goodness I will ever need. It makes me so happy. I thought I wouldn't be able to do very much, if any, crafty stuff. But I was wrong. It full of awesome stuff!
The only think I don't like about Okinawa is the military presence here. Something like 7 bases on the island. I mean c'mon guys you don't need to take half of the freaking island for your little soldiers. They don't do anything but cause trouble anyway.
